Going Native - During the 60 Days in Torres Del Paine N.P.
Camp Japones
The Climber’s Base Camp of the Towers. Seen here is the shelter Dave Turner renovated for his historic climbing adventure.
Someone's feces next to a Cook shelter
The stench put me over the edge and like in the movie "Dances with Wolves", where Kevin Costner renounces being a white man and declares he’s of an Indian tribe, I declared I was not part of the People-of-the-Tiny-White-Blanket (toilet paper) but of People of the Sacred-Fingers-Touching-the-Sky (the Towers). And that my name was He-Who-Climbs-With-Condors.
Condors
High on a mountain, I watched in awn as one after another made a high-speed landing on an adjacent escarpment. A group of over 20 condors assembled. Some feeding and others were comparing wingspans. A few flew within two meters of me, to close to track with my camera.
