The shed I rented for a few months to store my gear and supplies, and to sleep in while in town. Bill and I worked up some names for the shed and he came up with “Pebble Rock” which is a take on the main hostel – Erractic Rock. Coming into town to recoup and resupply was a breeze, a major switch from being something I dreaded. Common food staples periodically run out at the stores so it was helpful to have stock on hand for the next trip into the Park. Hostel life in Puerto Natales is crazier than most places because travelers are on their way into the Park or come out of the Park on their way to somewhere else, so I cherished the separation from such thing as hearing the same questions hundreds of times.
Inside the shed. The improvements I made were laying down vinyl on the concert floor and on top of the shelves that were there. On the one concert wall I hung carpets. I installed a rain gutter on front to shelter the entryway. I sealed up cracks and holes to prevent water and insects entry. The white looking shelf is a door I purchased and served as my bed frame.
The blue cooler served as my refrigerator. About every other day I would switch the frozen plastic bottles of water with fresh ones from main hostel freezer. My laptop served as my Home-Entertainment-Center in which I played rental DVDs. WI-Fi was availble when the door was open.
